Alabama Gay Basher & "Them Homosexuals"

Apparently, gay bashing is official business in Marshall County, Alabama as Sheriff Mac Holcomb writes about on the county web page. When you read Holcomb's letter you certainly can get the feeling that he thinks we have dun lost our way and are probably going straight to HELL. I mean I can't imagine not believing that all men and women are created equal and that organizations like the ACLU that protect our civil liberties aren't important? Oh that's right, it's called being a bigot.

While he doesn't specifically say whether we should return to segregation, he is clear on how he feels about them queers. In a letter on the official Marshall County website, he writes:

"Men were men and women were women and there was no mistaking which was which. Both were proud of their individual roles. Homosexuality was very queer and a despicable act… an abomination. During this era, those parents that owned televisions didn't have to worry that their children might be subjected to filth on television such as nudity, the use of God's name in vain, and other profanity because it was unheard of."

Now, if an individual feels that way, that's their backward way of looking at the world, but the fact that this is the SHERIFF on the official county web site saying this crap!?!

Holcomb not only posted the letter on his website, he posted it in the lobby of his office since 1995.
