Holistic
Tips On Insecurity
By
Lisa S. Lawless, Ph.D., Holistic Wisdom C.E.O.
Insecurity
affects us all at one time or another. Whether it is triggered
by social, financial, or emotional factors, it can usually induce
symptoms of anxiety. It is very important to emotionally honor
the feelings that we have by giving ourselves time to experience
them. When we try to suppress our symptoms with any type of mental,
physical, or emotional distress, we cause great harm to ourselves
and with long-term suppression we will most certainly begin to
see serious side effects.
Holistic
medicine acknowledges that we are not just our symptoms and can
not be fully healed with medications and quick fixes. We are complex,
spiritual beings that need to experience our pain, our grief,
and of course joy. When we look to medications, or quick fixes
we lose sight of how to achieve the on going growth our soul desires.
If you do use herbs, medications, etc. to assist you with your
feelings of insecurity, anxiety, of other challenging feelings,
make sure to address the source of the struggle, not just the
symptoms.
Allow
yourself to process your insecurity in a deep and vulnerable manner.
Emotionally release your fears and begin to assure yourself that
you will be able to handle those things that cause your insecurity.
If you need professional assistance in doing the emotional and
mental work of coming to terms with you insecurities, we recommend
finding a therapist that will view you holistically. Whether you
receive our Holistic Life Counseling, or find another therapist,
make sure that you find the help you need, and don't let the pain
within you stay within you. Your mind, body, and spirit are worth
taking excellent care of!
