Your
Intuitive Truth

Truth
is a multifaceted perception. We live in a vast universe that
has infinite "truths." One particular way of living life may not
be for all people. Certainly, there is the illusion that facts
are indisputable, but are we so arrogant to think that we know
without a doubt that certain ideas are indisputable "facts?" We
used to think the earth was flat, and that the sun revolved around
the earth. We used to think that man could not fly, let alone
travel into space. We used to think that atoms were the smallest
particles there were. We walked around treating those concepts
as facts, only to be humbled when we found them to be incorrect.
History
is a great teacher, it demonstrates how we have been careless
in our assumption of what is a "fact," and what is fiction. Yet
today many individuals insist that there are indisputable facts
when it is just popular opinion. We need to see the social and
cultural contributors to how we view the world. We must attempt
to take an objective view. Science tells us that we do not even
fully understand how our brains work, and why we only use a small
percentage of it. Striving for objectivity allows us to know that
there are many ways to interpret the universe.
There
are also layers of truth. A concrete example of this can easily
be demonstrated through watching a movie more than once. Let's
say that when you were younger you watched a movie that you really
enjoyed as it provided you with some insights into your own life.
Years later when you went to watch the same movie again, you were
amazed at how many of the insights you now see in this movie,
that you missed when you had first watched it. Is it the same
movie? Of course. Are you the same? No, you have grown, evolved.
When we continue to evolve our perception changes. Therefore,
what may have been right for us to believe during one point in
our lives, may not be later on. We are fluid, ever-changing beings
that require open minds in order to grow. We must remain open
to the concept that people who believe differently than us still
believe in the truth, it is just their own truth.
One
could say that Hitler's truth was an unevolved reality. For most
of us, we know that hatred and judgment are self-defeating and
destructive forces. Those who have not reached that level of understanding
will not agree. Having many "truths" is all a part of evolution,
and this allows us to see why people often disagree. The beautiful
part of being human is that we get to work with other people who
will challenge our "truths." Within all of these challenges is
the opportunity to test our own evolvement and sense our own inner
strength.
There
are times when we will partake in the latest book or class regarding
topics such as: self-help approaches, scientific advances, or
spiritual illumination. We partake in these with the intention
to fill our mind and heart with a wisdom that will assist us in
reaching a higher potential. However, too often the "expert" figure
that created that book or workshop will attempt to convince us
their beliefs create the path we should follow regardless of what
our own intuition tells us. It is imperative that before we open
that book, attend that workshop or visit a practitioner or advisor
that we ask ourselves one question. What is my truth?
What
is your truth? What feels right to you? These are the questions
you must ask yourself when you are seeking out wisdom as it is
the best way to empower yourself and take the right path in life
for you. You may or may not agree with this article; that is for
you to discern as it may or may not be your truth.
