State
your competitive advantage: First,
identify what results your customers receive from your product
or service. Prioritize that list based on your customers'
opinions. You can even take an informal poll - ask your best
customers why they chose your site over your competitors,
and what results your site provides. Your current customers
are a key link in determining ho
w
to attract new customers. Their answers help you create your
sales, the advantages your web site has over competitors.
-
Offer
an incentive:
The KING of traffic is free stuff. If you want to get real
traffic to your site, provide the kind of free content and
services that your market is hunting desperately for. Provide
free articles to other web sites. Provide free downloads.
Give away free CGI programs. Provide hundreds of links to
needed tools. Provide links to downloadable software. Give
your visitors what they want and they will keep coming back
and referring their friends.
-
Do
not overhype:
If you promise "FREE" but the site is not, you are
going to get bad conversions.
- Stats
Program- These are great for checking
out your traffic and where it is coming from. We use 3DStats
and find the fantastic and inexpensive. We have tried a few
others in the past... but I really feel that they offer the
best for the lowest prices around!
-
TEST
TEST TEST! Keep refining your program to increase your
conversion ratio.
Graphics
That Get Attention
Photos
- Commonly used to make your web pages seem more personal
and more inviting. Visitors' eyes are naturally drawn to photos
of people. An absolute necessity to showcase products on certain
e-commerce sites.
Use Vivid
Colors Not Blinding Colors- Blue, yellow, and green banners
have a higher conversion rate than black-and-white banners. Use
the color red sparingly as most people will find it irritating
especially when done in a bright shade.
File Size
- Smaller Is Better- It seems that every one on Internet is
in rush. You should take care to be certain that your banner will
be delivering and the visitor will have enough time to see it.
In general if the page on which your banner is displayed is bigger
then 10 seconds to load your chances to be seen are slim and even
slimmer to get clicks on it.
Imagination-
Creativity, eye catching message will definitely help your advertising
promotion.
Proportion
& Keeping It Simple- Alignment, simplicity try not to
over do, less is often better. Let the eyes follow your message
with natural rhythm.
Creating
Text That Get Attention
In order to get your prospects' attention you will want to have
to offer them something that they want or will peak their interest.
The tool that you use to do that is using proactive text in your
ads.
1. Peak
Their Interest- If you don't grab and hold your prospects'
or customers' attention immediately with your headline, you've
lost your opportunity to make a sale. Look through any newspaper
or magazine, and take particular note of the headlines of the
articles. Why do you stop and read a particular article? More
than likely, it's because the headline grabbed your attention
and interest. It's no different with the headlines of your ads.
Grab attention with your headlines immediately, or all your marketing
time and effort will be wasted.
People skim
over a marketing piece quickly to determine if there is anything
in it for them. Make sure that your ad has text that will not
only grab the reader's attention but will compel them to feel
that they need to at least learn more if not purchase what you
are promoting.
2. Use
Effective Words: Some effective words to include are FREE,
Easy, New, Now, Save, Revolutionary, Today, You, Yes and Breakthrough.
3. Make
Your Paragraphs Short: Limit them to seven lines or less.
4. Use
Simple Words: Make your copy familiar to your readers. Don't
use jargon or difficult words. Most people won't know or care
what you're talking about.
5. Focus
On Benefits: "Sell the sizzle, not the steak." Focus on the
benefits of your Magnetic Offer, not your service or company,
but what they'll get.
6. Be Honest:
Be honest, straightforward, upfront and true. Don't ever mislead
your readers.
7. Use
Easy-To-Read Type: Use sufficient size type, easy-to-read
type. Don't use fancy font types.
8. Business
Names Are Not Good Headlines- Marketing is about 'helping
people get what they want.' If you don't let your prospects know
what you have for them up front -- they're gone. Telling them
the name of your business, is not what they want. No one's attention
is grabbed by the name of your company.
9. Keep
It Concise And Don't Get Too Corny- Marketing is about 'helping
people get what they want and getting that message quickly so
try to eliminate unnecessary wording that will make it easy for
a potential customer to become bored and stop reading. Also try
not to focus too much on being clever or funny. People don't necessarily
buy from comedians -- they laugh at them. Ask yourself if the
ad will really compel someone to purchase from you or simply give
them a chuckle.
10. Decide
If You Want To Plug A Piece Or The Whole Pie- Decide if you
want to market a product or your entire company. Sometimes it
is better to advertise one compelling product and then have your
customer explore others on your site after they get there rather
than trying to be general and then risk not standing out to grab
their attention in the first place.
Web
Site Performance
The
best thing to do in advertising your site is to first make sure
that your site is in top condition. Below I have outlined some
tips for doing just that! Enjoy!
-
Improve
the speed and/or response time of your site: Surfers
usually wait only three seconds for a page to load. Any longer
than that, surfers tend to leave. Invest in faster servers,
faster hosting companies, and/or use less or smaller size
graphics.
We personally use Adult
Friendly Web Hosting for ALL of our web sites and I can
report that we have never had a single complaint! Tom Mercing
the president is the most customer friendly person I have
met and is always prompt to reply with any questions or issues
you may want to run by him. Not only that, but he is really
flexible in meeting all of your hosting needs and provides
services that are a downright steal for the money! This is
the best web host and the only one I recommend for adult web
sites. You won't go wrong with this one!
If you
decide to go with this company... eMail
or call Tom and let him know that HolisticWisdom.com referred
you and he will make sure to get you the best deal and get
you up and running lightening fast!
-
Improve
your site design:
Surfers want excitement! Confusing navigational links, sites
which do not have fresh content, or sites similar to the look
and feel of other paysites tend to have lower conversion ratios.
-
Update
your site regularly: Your
goal is to keep existing members and attract new visitors
by changing content regularly, which is recommended to keep
them clicking from page to page on your web site. Create more
than one version of your web site and rotate them - then compare
conversion results.
-
Think
"beyond the click": To
attract customers and not browsers, think of the end result
for your customer - the benefit as the surfer sees it.
- Write
Articles- I
cannot say enough about the importance of writing articles.
They are beneficial for several reasons, here are just a few-
1) More content for the search engines to index providing a
higher density of keyword density and diversity. 2) Fresh content
making your site one that people will visit over and over again.
3) Increasing your reputation as someone that your customers
can identify with and trust in addition to having the opportunity
to sell your products or promote affiliate programs through
the articles. A good deal all the way around. If you do not
like writing you can keep the articles short or cut down on
your writing by seeking permission to publish articles that
you find on the web. While you are at it ask for a link exchange
as that is also beneficial to your site's ability to get traffic
via search engines.
-
Be
different from your competitors:
Check out your competitors' listings and promote something
different.
-
Write
descriptive titles and text descriptions:
For Pay Per Click
text listings, surfers tend to click on links that excite
them. Avoid generic terms such as HOT, or XXX. Review your
title and description and check if you yourself would click
on your link
