What
is Lutein?
Lutein
is a natural molecule found in plants like spinach, kale, collard
greens and other dark green, leafy vegetables. FloraGLO brand
lutein is the same natural molecule found in these plants. it
is extracted from marigold flowers for use as an added ingredient
in foods, beverages, nutritional supplements and, more recently,
skin care products.

How
does it work?
When
light penetrates the skin, it can interact with oxygen to produce free
radicals that can lead to skin inflammation and cell death. the skin
has its own natural antioxidants to dispose of the harmful free radicals.
But, exposure to the sun and artificial light can overwhelm the skin's
antioxidant system, leaving cells vulnerable. The Lutein molecule acts
as an extra antioxidant. when applied in a lotion or cosmetic, Lutein,
unlike ordinary antioxidant compounds, orients itself among cells to
provide a shield against free-radical damage. Lutein's favorite destinations
