Beyond one's creative imagination, there are certainly financial considerations and lack of access to sex toys for some. Others may be embarrassed to purchase something of a sexual nature in a store. (Although discreet Internet based companies like us ensure discreet delivery).

However, there is always the off chance that one may be found... if a nosy visitor finds a hairbrush on your nightstand they may not give it a second thought, but as for a vibrating, rotating sex toy... they will know for sure you have been enjoying your sexuality.

There is also the idea that one is being naughty using something ordinary in a sexual manner. Adding feelings of being deviant to masturbation can certainly be a turn on.

Considerations Before Using A Homemade Sex Toy

Before you grab that cucumber or vibrating toothbrush you may want to consider some of the hazards. It is better to be safe than sorry and thinking this through may save you an embarrassing discussion with the emergency room doctor.

Make sure that whatever you use is clean and made of a non-irritating material. Also, think through what material the object is that you are intending to use. Allergies to latex, rubber, fruit, vegetable oils and other things may want to be considered and even researched before you use them.

This is especially true for insertion into the vagina and anus. The tissue of the vagina and especially the rectum can absorb substances quickly, so using food that may have bacteria or toxic properties like laminates (wood stain, etc.) are not a good idea.

ASACP To Create Labeling For Adult Web Sites

The Association of Sites Advocating Child Protection (ASACP) has announced that it will trademark and offer a “standard adult industry label” intended to help enable parental filtering and to demonstrate the adult industry’s commitment to preventing children from viewing adult content on the Internet.

Currently mandatory self-rating of sexually explicit sites has been proposed by the Department of Justice and in Congress. “There are now at least three bills in Congress which attempt to make labeling mandatory,” said ASACP Executive Director Joan Irvine.

“We have to move ahead now, since there will be a lot of work involved. ASACP will need to work with companies that provide filtering software, search engines and browsers to make sure that a standard label from the adult industry is recognized.”

“The increasing credibility ASACP has gained with government and mainstream companies, thanks to its child protection efforts on behalf of the adult entertainment industry, would carry over to an ASACP label as well,” Irvine said. “Plus, adult companies may be quicker to adopt the ASACP label, since it comes from an organization known to be supported by and friendly to the adult industry.”

Recently, ASACP started an “Online Town Hall” to open up the topic of labeling adult sites for broad discussion and to get feedback from all adult companies on the topic. Among the ideas posted is one we thought worth a mention in this report because it proposes a carrot, rather than a stick, solution: If search engines such as Google and Microsoft listed appropriately meta-tagged adult sites higher in the search rankings than those without meta-tags, “every webmaster in the world would use the meta-tag.”

In other words, search engines could create a “tangible business/marketing/money incentive for the professional webmaster or company to use the meta-tag by opening up rather than closing off key traffic streams to properly tagged sites.”

Judge Convicted of Using Penis Pump In Court

July 2006

Bristow, Oklahoma - A US jury has sentenced an Oklahoma judge to one year in prison for using a penis pump on the bench during three murder trials and a civil case in 2002 and 2003. Donald D Thompson, 59, was convicted on Thursday and fined $10 000 for each count. Thompson told the jury he would also lose his $90 000-a-year pension. The verdict, which exposed the judge’s behind-the-bench secrets, capped a bizarre and awkward chapter in the state’s judicial history. Thompson’s longtime court reporter, Lisa Foster, wept on the stand as she recalled how she discovered the source of a “sh-sh” sound in the courtroom. She said she spied Thompson’s penis inside the pump through a small gap between a drawer and a door.

Man With Faulty Penile Implant Gets $400K

July 2006

A former handyman has won more than $400,000 in a lawsuit over a penile implant that gave him a 10-year erection. Charles “Chick” Lennon, 68, received the steel and plastic implant in 1996, about two years before Viagra went on the market. The Dura-II is designed to allow impotent men to position the penis upward for sex, then lower it. But Lennon could not position his penis downward. He said he could no longer hug people, ride a bike, swim or wear bathing trunks because of the pain and embarrassment. He has become a recluse and is uncomfortable being around his grandchildren, his lawyer said. In 2004, a jury awarded him $750,000. A judge called that excessive and reduced it to $400,000. On Friday, the Rhode Island Supreme Court affirmed that award in a ruling that turned on a procedural matter.

Prince Loses Inheritance For Being Gay

July 2006

Prince Manvendra Singh Gohil, who belongs to one of the country's richest royal families has been disowned for being gay. His parents have said that if anyone even refers to him as their son they will charge them in court for contempt.

Gohil, 40, who announced he was gay this year, says he has found happiness among Gujarat's gay community and is not interested in his inheritance. "I could not have lived a lie forever," he told Reuters on Friday. "I will not stake my claim to the property. I have found a family in the (gay) community and am happy working for the community," said Gohil, who runs an NGO working on HIV/ AIDS among homosexuals. He has also become an activist to stop AIDS.

Advertise On A Hooker's Legs?

Raoul Balai, a Dutch design student created a fake online agency offering advertising space on prostitutes thighs and cleavage. He also proposed painting brand names on zoo animals and billboards.

"I was getting sick and tired of advertising everywhere," Balai told reporters. "But I don't want to preach, and I thought satire would work better."

Amsterdam zoo had its lawyer threaten Balai with a defamation suit after his website depicted fish from the zoo bearing the brand name of a frozen fish company. Prospective customers phoning his fake agency are kept on hold and bombarded with sales pitches until they give up.

Castro For Sex Education

July 2006

Fidel Castro's niece Mariela Castro (43) is leading a Cuban revolution for sexual tolerance. While she is less well known than her Uncle Fidel she is trying to make change in a highly "macho" society. She has started agovernment-funded National Center for Sex Education, based in an old Havana mansion.

Now President Castro's niece is pushing for passage of a law that would give transsexuals free sex change operations and hormonal therapy in addition to granting them new identification documents with their changed gender. A bill was presented to parliament last year and was well received, she said. It is expected to come up for a vote in December. If approved, it would make Cuba the most liberal nation in Latin America on gender issues.

She is fighting for better AIDS prevention as well as acceptance of homosexuality, bisexuality and transvestism.
