Guide
To Materials
Sex
Toys & More
Acrylonitrile
butadiene styrene, or ABS, is a common thermoplastic used to make
light, rigid, molded products.
Example
Some sex toys are made from ABS plastic. An example is the Naughtinano.
Many
other products are made of ABS plastic such as piping, musical
instruments, golf club heads and toys including LEGO bricks.
Allergy
Or Toxin Warnings
ABS plastic is phthalate free and
hypoallergenic.
Cleaning
Recommendations
ABS plastic is easy to clean. Use mild soap and warm water or
antibacterial sex toy cleaner. Or,
soak a cotton ball in rubbing alcohol and wipe down your toy.
If you're nervous about bringing alcohol in contact with your
sensitive genitalia, you can follow the alcohol wipe with a gentle
water wipe-down.
Lubricants
Waterbased or Silicone.
Recycling
Common plastics
polycarbonate (PC) and acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene (ABS) do
not have recycling numbers. The fall under the category "other"
and cannot be recycled.
