Techno-Skin

Techno-Skin
is a registered name for a line of sex toy products made from
soft variations of thermoplastic elastomer (TPE), a mixture
of polyvinyl chloride and silicone. TPE is a polymer that has
many uses, one being sex toys.

Example
TPE has many uses. Some examples are sex toys, automobile airbag covers,
yoga mats and medical catheters.
Allergy
Or Toxin Warnings
Sex toys made of Techno-Skin may contain phthalates. Phthalates are
a family of chemicals that are used to soften rubbers and plastics.
There is a growing body of evidence that shows phthalates pose a health
risk and can have a toxic effect. If you own a Techno-Skin adult toy
and suspect that it may contain phthalates, we highly recommend the
use of a condom to reduce the risk of possible exposure. We suggest
referring to manufacturer or item description if concerned item may
not be free of toxins or purchasing products from companies such as
Holistic Wisdom that are committed to offering only nontoxic sexual
products. Another option is to purchase sex toys that are phthalate
free such as those made of Elastomer or Silicone. This material is
also very porous therefore easily harbors bacteria and cannot be sterilized.
We recommend using a condom with adult toys made of Techno-Skin to
protect against possible exposure to toxins and bacteria.
Cleaning
Recommendations
Techno-Skin should be cleaned with mild soap and warm water or antibacterial
sex toy cleaners. Once dry, sprinkle with the included "renewing"
powder or cornstarch. Never use talcum powder or baby powder, as these
can cause irritation and sometimes larger problems for women. Corn
starch and a soft cloth may also be used to bring the toy back to
life. (Talcum powder has been implicated as a possible cause of ovarian
cancer.) We highly recommend storing Techno-Skin items in an individual
storage/separation bag or wrapped in thin material, as the porous
surface can absorb anything it comes in contact with.
Lubricants
Waterbased only. Silicone or oil base lubricants will damage this
material. We also recommend using a condom with Techno-Skin products,
as they easily absorb germs and bacteria due to the high porosity
of the material.
Recycling
The production process to make TPE is much more eco-friendly than
making latex and rubber.
