To place batteries in, open cap take out battery holder. Align batteries with negative end (flat end) against the springs. Take the battery holder now full with 3 AAA batteries and align back into Inner G by lining up two bottom metal contacts with the bottom metal contacts on battery holder. To put the top back on, align arrows and turn clockwise. On some models the arrow will say open when it is really closed, we are working with the manufacterer to have them change this.
